The Worcestershire Way in Suckley |
|
The Worcestershire Way is a link in the regional long distance path network.
It links the Staffordshire Way and the North Worcestershire Path with the
Malvern Hills.
The Worcestershire Way was opened in 1989 by what was then the
Hereford and Worcester County Council.
The current Worcestershire County Council's Countryside Service maintains the path. In 2004 the Worcestershire County Council relaunched the Worcestershire Way
in truncated form, removing sections that previously strayed into Herefordshire. The original regional route stretched for 39 miles or 62 kilometres from Kingsford
Country Park in north Worcestershire to the Malvern Hills. The Suckley
section of the path is from Knightwick to Longley Green, and is 4 miles long.
This section of the path is in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural
Beauty. The 2004 truncated route is only 31 miles long, and runs from Bewdley to Malvern.
